The Rookie Period Spring term 2024
The rookie period is the first weeks of the rest of your student life at MDU! During these weeks, a series of activities are arranged for you as a new student to give you the best possible start. Take the opportunity to get to know both your fellow students on the same program, but also other program students during the joint activities.
We´ll start the weeks with The Welcoming, which is organized together with MDU on January 15 at 5-7pm on the campus in Eskilstuna. It will be an evening packed with fun activities, good food, new friends and competitions.
Buses for the Welcoming will be available for those who need to get to or from Västerås. The bus from Västerås departs at 16.15 from MDU’s main entrance in Västerås and returns at 19.15 from Eskilstuna (between Rademachergatan 28 A and the library).

Below you will find the rookie schedules for each city. Here are listed the activities that are open to all or most program associations, so don’t forget to ask your fadders about more activities that are exclusive to your particular program.

Rookie policy
If you participate in the rookie period, it is important to know that we have a policy document containing rules, approaches and policies regarding the rookie period and its participants. This exists to create a safe and welcoming rookie period for you as a new student. You can read the document here (English version starts in the middle of the PDF-document) , or ask your fadders or the student union if you feel unsure. Anyone who violates the policy risks being suspended from the rookie period.
